Das neue Modell wurde von Maria Grazia Chiuri, Creative Director bei Dior, entworfen. Die Vespa 946 Christian Dior wird in Italien mit größter Sorgfalt, Präzision und Hingabe von Hand gefertigt, wie in einem Atelier für Haute Couture üblich.
