Aguttes’ Tour Auto Optic 2000 sale has everything you need for the ideal summer getaway

Aguttes’ Tour Auto Optic 2000 auction on August 30th has all the items you need to take a seat, kick back, open a bottle of wine, and admire your newly acquired dream car this summer.

Picture this: you’ve booked a lovely villa in the South of France for your summer holiday, but there are a few snags. You don’t have a ride to get you there, a timepiece to keep you on schedule, any seating once you’re there, or even any fermented grape juice to ease you into the holiday spirit. Sounds like the holiday is ruined before it has even started, but thankfully Aguttes’ upcoming Tour Auto Optic 2000 auction in Paris on August 30th has everything you need to salvage your getaway.

Firstly, you’ll want to arrange transport, and could you hope for a better continental cruiser than this legendary 2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR  McLaren? If you’re worried about scaring off any french villagers with the SLR’s mighty supercharged V8 once you arrive at your destination, then there are a few more subtle vehicles available. This stunning 1954 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster would make an excellent choice for relaxed open-top cruising, or if you prefer your German sports cars with the engine in the back, this 1958 Porsche 356 would surely have you thinking twice about ever turning off the ignition.

After the long driver to your holiday retreat, you’ll want to kick back and open a bottle of wine, and these beautifully aged vintage Pierre Jeanneret easy armchairs would be as good a place as any to do so. The bottle of choice? Well, that’s entirely up to you, but selecting just one of the numerous exquisite bottles on offer will likely be up there with the toughest tasks during your stay. If for some unimaginable reason you tire of gazing upon your pride and joy, then one of the three breathtaking artworks created by Jonone would make an excellent stand in.

If you’re the cautious type, then you may want some way of protecting your newly acquired treasures, a role which the incredibly ornate Spanish Sword II by Jan Fabre might have performed well at, if it wasn’t composed of thousands of vibrant beetles shells. That aside, when the time comes to leave, at least this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak will surely over-perform at timekeeping duties. So, unless you want to waste a perfectly good villa retreat, be sure to take a close look at Aguttes’ upcoming auction.
