Interesting history
Sound and factory original

Iconic and arguably the first in a line of successful and financially strong Porsche cars, the 356 is the foundation on which the brand's legend of genius and passion has been built. Ferdinand and Ferry Porsche's initial design was good. Rear-engine, flat-four, air-cooled, streamlined bodywork, quality workmanship, this package evolved with consistency, serenity, and rigor, to the point where some of the ingredients that shaped the personality of the early Porsches can be found in the current 911. Called the Pre-A, the first series was an immediate commercial success in the United States and soon became the car of the Stars. The legend was born.
The 356 presented here is a B super 90 model. Sold new in France to the Buchet garage in Poitiers, it is white in colour and the interior is in brown skai. The history of this Porsche is quite interesting as it never left the countryside of central-western France since it was put on the road on the 12 November 1962. It was first registered 686 HT 86 and then sold in April 1968 to a young man from Niort who registered it 75 JB 79. The Porsche had about 20,000 kilometers on the clock when Mr. C, the owner, was driving along a road near Niort and narrowly avoided a dramatic accident with an oncoming truck. The maneuver was brutal and the Porsche fell into the ditch. No injuries were reported, but the car was damaged on the side and the owner could not afford to pay for the repairs. Finally, the mechanic and garage owner recovered the damaged 356 with the aim of rebuilding it, but the car was to remain at the back of his garage for 20 years. In 1985 he sold it to another garage owner who stored the car without touching it either .... Until 2021! Today the little Porsche deserves a real restoration, this one is almost complete except for some glass elements and small interior parts. The base is very sound and the original engine is not blocked.

This car will be sold by auction by AGUTTES Auction House, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, on June the 20th, 2021.
