Reliable mechanics and improved cycle part
Great look
The flat-twin has been famous since 1923 and makes his machines recognizable at first glance. An eclectic collector and fine mechanic in his spare time, in 2011 he started to transform three motorbikes... just for fun!
This R50/2 is the first of the series. After the removal of the sidecar support, the whole frame was treated and powder coated as well as the cycle part (rims and swingarm). A Series 5 fork replaces the original Earles with, to improve the critical point of the R50s of the time, the addition of a Grimeca four-cam brake mounted on the MV Agusta at the time. In terms of looks, the bike was fitted with custom-made aluminium mudguards and a superb leather-wrapped seat by a local upholsterer. If the bike develops a little more than its original 26 hp thanks to an engine preparation (camshaft, high compression piston and electronic ignition), its driving remains easy thanks to the flexibility of its twin-cylinder. Finally, two long stainless steel tubes of 4 cm in diameter replacing the original silencers let the engine breathe without sacrificing the ears of the passers-by! It should be noted that on its first release, this motorbike received the 1st prize in the Aeron bike event contest. Proof if it were still necessary to show it of the quality of this realization!
