The Velosolex, was one of the most representative products of the drive generated by people’s needs to get around in the immediate post-war period. It was produced by the French Solex Company in a record six million units. Designed by engineer Marcel Mennenson, one of the co-founders of Solex, as an economical means of transport, which consisted of an auxiliary engine to be fitted to bicycles at the front and whose motion was transferred to the wheel via a roller connected directly to the drive shaft._x000D_
Powered by a 49 cc single-cylinder 2-stroke engine and credited with 0.795 hp, the S 3800 of 1966 differed from previous versions as it had a larger diameter roller (42 mm), which made it more brilliant when climbing. A symbol of early post-war mass mobility. Restored and presumably never used since. A general mechanical check is recommended before use.
