This rather unique DeTomaso Guarà Coupe is one of the last model produced by Alejandro DeTomaso before the company went bankrupt. The German, Stuttgart based Sports Cars gmbh supplied it on the 26th September 1995 and was then registered on the19th October 1995. It only has done a mere 46,219 km! The last person owned car for over eleven years. The Guarà is based on the 1991 Maserati Barchetta Stradale prototype. A racing car with the bare minimum legal requirements for it to be allowed on the public roads. Of the total of only 50 cars made, 38 were in the coupe version! The body is made of fibreglass, Kevlar and other high-quality lightweight materials on a backbone aluminium underbody. The suspension is comparable to that used in Formula 1, making the Guarà steer and grip the road extremely well. This Guarà as all the other first ones have the BMW 840 CI derived 282 Hp aluminium BMW M60 B40 V8 engine. It has a Getrag 6-speed gearbox. There are more features that this DeTomaso shares with BMW such as its electronics and the cars interior appearance. This DeTomaso has its original ‘Blu’ exterior finish with a ‘Pelle Blu’ leather interior trim. It comes with the original owner’s manual, a copy of the old German papers and even the first 26/09/1995 delivery notice. The fact that this car drives perfectly is thanks to excellent maintenance. For the last couple of years BMW dealer Le Couter serviced the car, with many invoices detailing the maintenance. It also has a fantastic sounding Tubi exhaust system! This unique Italian coupe is the perfect marriage of Italian design, German and F1 technology. This absolutely unique model rarely if ever comes to market!
