Description
"The Land Rover Defender was developed in the 1980’s from the original Land Rover series which was launched at the Amsterdam motor show in 1948. The car had an impressive build run that lasted until 2016 and saw a phenomenal 2,016,933 units roll off the production line of the world famous Midlands manufacturer. Its rugged design has ensured that an estimated two thirds of Defenders and their predecessors are still on the road.
This Land Rover Heritage model is one of the limited number of 400 cars built to pay homage to the iconic Defender. For the styling cues of this Land Rover, the company turned to ‘HUE 166’, the very first Land Rover series SUV, now affectionately referred to by its registration number, and the car that kick started what can only be described as a motoring phenomenon. Like all the Heritage models, RY65 UOT is presented with Grasmere Green paintwork, Almond upholstery with steel wheels and ‘HUE 166’ badges that pay tribute to the first prototype. This rare, one owner version is a 110 long wheelbase with seven seats and shows, remarkably, only delivery mileage with 45 miles on the clock. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document, a fresh MoT test certificate and even a ‘HUE 166’ celebration mug, this is an opportunity to purchase what can only be described as one of the rarest Land Rovers on the market today."
