Experiencing The FJ Company's newest celebration of the Toyota FJ Land Cruiser, their G40, is a rewarding whirlwind of emotions. From the outside to the untrained eye it looks like a normal Toyota Land Cruiser, with its big wheel arches, iconic front grille, and peering through the windows you'll see a pair of jump seats ready to accommodate some extra passengers. Their appearance would make you believe that it was stock, that everything was designed by the factory originally and that this is very well how it could have been delivered if Toyota still made these Land Cruisers today. This is due entirely to the passionate and clever minds at The FJ Company, incorporating and designing upgrades and tasteful modifications that stay true to the original spirit of the Land Cruiser. The G40 is the latest and greatest from The FJ Company, with upgraded performance, OE new parts, all with the original charm and reliability of a factory original Toyota Land Cruiser.
The G40 benefits from modern-era technology that creates a fantastic driving experience while retaining the vintage-era look and feel, a perfect combination of performance, style and handling. The FJ Company has spent years and countless hours developing an industry-leading laundry list of upgrades that work seamlessly with one another, feeling undeniably factory-like but with the added benefit of modern features and reliability.
The entire body and chassis of an original FJ40 or FJ43 is sourced and completely disassembled down to its last nut and bolt. A proprietary blend of engineering and craftsmanship has them modify chassis to accept their new and upgraded componentry. This includes a brand-new Toyota 4.0-liter engine with optional supercharger, upgraded power steering, disc brakes, new 5-speed manual transmissions, air conditioning, new modern suspension, a stainless-steel exhaust system, traction and stability control, locking differentials, LED lighting, and other updates to make driving a G40 an absolute pleasure.
Experienced metal craftsmen replace a majority of the original body with new galvanized sheet metal, while the other original parts are thoroughly worked to present a fantastic level of refinement throughout. The FJ Company even goes as far as having created new metal die presses in order to reproduce accurate and high-quality panels. Each vehicle is constructed in house, painted and assembled under one roof and fully documented from the beginning to end, allowing you to follow the build process of your special vehicle.
The interior is modern retro, and long gone is the notion that being a classic you have to not be in comfort. Modern amenities such as A/C and heating systems are added, a custom sound system, modern electronics to work with modern devices like navigation and a rear backup camera, custom leather upholstered seating and surfaces, a digital instrument cluster, and other items that allow drivers and passengers to relax and feel like they are driving a unique piece of machinery that can take them comfortably anywhere in style.
This G43-S features the longer wheelbase of an FJ43, making for a smoother and more enjoyable driving experience. It is painted in a special Cement Grey metallic finish, not offered in normal G40 production, making this a unique G40 unlike any other. This was used as The FJ Company's show vehicle during SEMA 2018 and at the 2019 Car Week in Monterey and used in their advertising. Lead times for a new build of a G40 is approximately 12 months, making this no-wait opportunity a rare chance to enjoy one before everyone else.
The G40 redefines what it means to be a classic with modern underpinnings. Truly more "RestoManufactured" as The FJ Company calls it, the G40 is new throughout in all the right places that you want it to be. Modern drivetrains, modern amenities and best of all, a driving experience that is enjoyable, comfortable, infinitely cool, and useable anytime, all the time. As the exclusive California dealer for The FJ Company, Canepa is proud to offer this excellent G43-S for sale, available now.
