"Extreme, offbeat and provocative, the Murciélago Roadster rigorously respects Lamborghini's philosophy. And, icing on the cake, its radical side does not prevent a real ease of handling." These were the words of the journalists of Sport-Auto magazine after their test in September 2004 of Sant'Agata Bolognese's latest baby.
Sublime and exuberant, the Lamborghini Murcielago roadster is undoubtedly one of the monuments of high fashion in the automotive industry. Derived from the coupé of the same name, it was presented in 2004 at the Geneva Motor Show and went on sale at the end of the year at the Paris Motor Show, where it was on its own at the Italian company's stand. Thanks to its highly crafted design by Luc Donckerwolke, it retains sharp lines like those of a stealth aircraft, thus perpetuating Lamborghini's own values. The windscreen and side windows have a very low and straight roof line, allowing easy deployment of the soft top, which then integrates perfectly with the roadster line, whose aerodynamic elements can only be uncovered if necessary, either to cool the boiling V12 or to add support at high speed. The engine hood is also new and seen from above, its shape looks like an aircraft wing. We also note the presence of new rims as well as a new dual central exhaust outlet with a larger cross-section than on the coupé.
The model we present was sold new equipped with the extremely rare six-speed mechanical gearbox by the Lamborghini dealership in Stockholm, Sweden on May 25, 2007 in a Grigio Avion shade with a tone on tone dark grey leather interior. Produced in only 899 units worldwide, it is estimated that only 2% of Murcielago roadsters are produced with the mechanical gearbox, or 18 units worldwide! This roadster was then bought by its current French owner in January 2009 when it was 7,000 km long. An attentive and meticulous collector, he took great care to always maintain it within the brand's network, the last maintenance including the preventive change of the clutch in May 2015 when the car was 27,293 km long. Now at 28,200 km, the car is in perfect condition and in perfect working order. The bodywork elements are impeccable and in original paint. In the cabin, sober and well finished, the dashboard has an ergonomics that betrays Ingoldstat's influences. The instrumentation is clear, precise and precise, as is the driving position, much more adapted and comfortable than that of the Diablo. With its 45 mm adjustable front suspension at low speed, the Murciélago roadster can easily evolve in urban traffic and on our old European roads.... A must in terms of handling and dazzling performance, confirming the brand's renewal that began in 2001.
With a total displacement of 6,192 cm3, developing the incredible power of 580 hp - all well managed by Lamborghini L.I.E. integral electronic management - the Lamborghini Murcielago roadster goes from 0 to 100 km/ in less than 4 seconds and can reach 320 km/h hair in the wind. As efficient as the coupé, but with totally increased sensations, only about twenty of them produced with the mechanical gearbox, the Murcielago roadster in mechanical gearbox are extremely rare for sale, preciously kept in the garages of the world's largest collections. The prices of its competitor of the time, the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, about 50 of which were produced in mechanical gearboxes, suggest that this is an exceptional opportunity to acquire one of the most exclusive sports cars of tomorrow.
