Description
Only11,282 miles. In family ownership before becoming part of a collection in 2016Finished in Titansilber with a dramatic Imola Red andBlack Nappa leather interiorThe 3.2-litre, 321bhp, naturally-aspirated, S54 straight-six makes this car really specialWell-specified from new, it's equipped with heated seats, air conditioningand a moon roofRecently serviced (September 2019) and the MOT is valid until May 2020One of only 165 right-hand drive, S54 examplesand, at this mileage, a realopportunityThe Z3 was the first modern mass-market roadster produced by BMW as well as the first new BMW model to be assembled in the United States. It was introduced as a 1996 model year vehicle, shortly after being featured in the James Bond movie 'Goldeneye'. While the film was number one at the box office, sales of the car peaked and over 15,000 orders had been placed by the time the car was launched. The Z3 was designed by Joji Nagashima of the BMW design team and developed from the 3-series E36 platform and consequently is often referred to as the E36/7(roadster) or E36/8(coup). When launched, only the 1.9-litre, straight-four engine was offered, but its 138bhp proved a bit short of breath. A 2.2-litre engine producing 168bhp was made available for the more enthusiastic driver whilst in 1997 a powerful six-cylinder 2.8-litre unit producing 190bhp was an option, and ultimately, in 1998, the 3.2-litre Z3M topped the range. In October 2001, the 'M' Coup reappeared with the new 3.2-litre S54B32 engine from the E46 M3, producing 321bhp at 7400rpm and 258lb/ft.The documentation with this lovely example indicates that the car has been enjoyed by three keepers, but the first of these was the original purchaser who then sold it to his brother who later sold it back to him so, whilst three keepers is technically correct, in real terms it's one familyownership. Anyway, between them, they only managed to cover 11,000 miles and this car is almost certainly one of the best examples in the country. Supplied new by Hexagon BMW finished in sparkling Titan Silver with contrasting Imola Red & Black Nappa leather trim, this car is in excellent condition. Well-specified from new, it's equipped with heated seats, air conditioning, and a moon roof. The car has been particularly well-kept and appears virtually untouched as evidenced by the first aid kit which is still in the original cellophane. It was serviced just once, as per its BMW schedule, and had periods on SORN from 2012 until 2016 when it joined a private collection. The mileage is warranted by a VOSA MOT check- 2006 at5929 miles, 2007 at6758, 2008 at7162, 2011 at8618, 2016 (June) at10,965, 2016 (November) at11,110 and 2019 at1,281.Further details of the car's initial thirteen years can be found within the history file along with all its handbooks, V5c registration, the current MOT Certificate valid until May 2020 and details of its most recent service in September this year at 11,282 miles.Only 165 right-hand drive, S54 engined examples of the Z3M were ever produced by BMW, and that rarity will inevitably result in them becoming particularly sought after.
