Description
This Borgward Isabella Coupé from 1961 is a rare, unique appearance. The car has been in a car museum for about 20 years. It runs and shifts well and the car is therefore very original. The Borgward Isabella Coupé appeared on the market in 1957 and was built some 9,500 times until Borgwards closure in 1963. An important part of the production was destined for export to the United States. Small tail wings were specially designed for this market, which were screwed onto the rear screens. The Isabella Coupé is one of the most successful designs from the Borgward stable. The car looks slim, even though it weighs around 1100 kilos. In old test reports, the Borgward Isabella, which as a Coupé always had the 75 hp TS engine, is described as dynamic and fast. The car invited for a smooth driving style, but it wasn't a real sports car. Anyone who takes the wheel will soon notice that Carl Borgward considered comfort to be of paramount importance. To get a good impression of the car we advise you to come to one of the viewing days.
