This example was a Hong Kong delivery and is 1 of only 26 built. With only 245km on the odometer, this DBRS9 is one of very few that have never been raced and is in pristine condition. The paintwork is near perfect and the shut lines are in factory condition. All relevant maintenance has been completed and the vehicle is in exceptional mechanical condition.
This car was built by PRODRIVE in England and is fully homologated to GT3 specifications. Sporting a tuned version of the DB9's 5.9L V12, this car produces 550bhp at the rear wheels through a close-ratio 6-speed gearbox. Fitted with carbon fibre body panels, polycarbonate side and rear windows, and a stripped interior, the weight of the DBRS9 has been reduced by 480kg over the standard DB9, resulting in a power to weight ratio of 430bhp per ton. As well as this, the DBRS9 features upgraded brakes, suspension with a lowered ride height and stiffened springs, race spec interior and an air jacking system.
This DBRS9 is fully documented online with manuals, homologation documents, technical updates and other relevant documents all provided by PRODRIVE.
When built, the DBRS9 was intended to be a more useful and less complex alternative to the all-out DBR9 which was built for the Le Mans GT1 class. While the DBR9 saw impressive results in the GT1 series, the DBRS9 was making waves in the GT3 class, providing most of the performance of its big brother for only a fraction of the cost and complexity. For this reason, it was an extremely tempting option for many international race teams.
Ready to be raced or admired, this superb example would make an excellent addition to any collection
