Home improvement goals at Phillips’ Design in New York sale

After spending a copious amount of time (and money!) renovating your Manhattan Brownstone or converting your Brooklyn loft, filling your new home with flat-pack furniture just isn’t going to cut it. Luckily, Phillips has all the design pieces you’ve ever dreamed of available for sale on 6 June…

Eye for design

With works by Pierre Chareau, Jean Royére, Shiro Kuramata, Jean Prouvè, and more, Phillips’ Design in New York sale will feature some of the most intriguing and rare Art Deco, post-War, and contemporary designs to be found south of the Hudson River. From armchairs and side tables to sideboards, ceiling lights, and even an aluminium door, Phillips will see over 160 lots of design masterpieces cross the block on 6 June, and there’re quite a few we’d be tempted to reunite with this side of the pond, including a pair of low oeuf chairs by Jean Royère (est. 150,000–200,000), a cabinet, model no. 152, by Jean Prouvé (est. 100,000–150,000), and a set of four adjustable table lamps by Giuseppe Ostuni (est. 3,000–5,000). You can find Philips’ entire catalogue listed in the Classic Driver Market or, alternatively, see our 10 favourites below.
