From Bonhams’ Goodwood Revival sale, we’ve already taken a look at the planes, an assortment of collectables, the Chris Evans collection, and ‘Blue Lena’, the Stones’ Bentley S3 Continental Flying Spur from their notorious drug-fuelled trip to Morocco. So what of the rest of the bumper catalogue?
For the racetrack...
We’d love to see the Porsche 908/3 Turbo (est. £2.2-2.5m) restored to its original 1970 Targa Florio specification, though its current guise would also secure entry into a host of historic events including the Le Mans Classic. An entirely different vintage, the Aston Martin Ulster 2/4-Seater Tourer is another eligible – and rather handsome – historic racer, estimated at a healthy £700,000-900,000.
For the road...
The three Scarab racers would make for an interesting collection and, naturally, we’d take the matching Fiat-Bartoletti transporter (£575,000-750,000) on which to transport them. Road-car wise, we love the yellow Ferrari 512BB estimated at £200,000-250,000 (though its high-speed history might put some off), and the funky Fiat 600 Multipla (£8,000-12,000), the ideal car to ferry the family to next year’s Goodwood Revival.
