Cars were produced by Clement Talbot Ltd in North Kensington from 1904. However following World War I the company became part of the Anglo-French STD combine consisting of Sunbeam, Talbot and Darracq. During the early twenties the British Talbot arm of the group was weakest with a series of out-dated models. To this end, George Roesch, an accomplished engineer, was transferred from the French Talbot Co in France to develop a competitive new model. The brilliant 14/45 tourer was launched to much acclaim at the 1926 Olympia Motor Show. The 1,666cc six cylinder engine provided smooth power throughout its range. Clearly, the next step was to increase the power. The first development being the 75 series producing 75 bhp at 4,500 r.p.m. f
