The latest tuning and body conversion from German specialists Arden sees the already highly-acclaimed new Jaguar XK's V8 enlarged by the installation of a new crankshaft, con rods and pistons. Called the Arden Jaguar XK AJ 20, power is increased from the standard supercharged car's 420 bhp to a maximum of 480 bhp, giving the car an ultimate top speed of 295 km/h (183mph).

As far as the normally aspirated engine is concerned, Arden rebuilds the V8 from scratch, increasing its displacement to 4.5 litre. In conjunction with the modified intake and exhaust systems and sports catalytic converters, the recalibrated Engine Management System produces a noted hike in power, while retaining the original emissions classification.

The 4.5 litre displacement generates almost 100 extra brake horse power, with a total of 392 bhp (288 kW) and a torque of 475 Nm at 3,800 rpm. Sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) is just 5.3 seconds; that's just under a second faster than the production version. And the top speed of 285 km/h (177mph) is pretty impressive too.



A sports silencer system with the option of either two or four chrome-plated tailpipes can be fitted and, upon request, the system can be extended at any time up to a performance-enhancing complete unit that includes catalytic converters too.

Externally, the coupe is given an impressive “face” by fitting the Arden front spoiler featuring large air inlets, new side sills also incorporating air inlets, and its own colour contrasted side vents. At the rear the car features an underbody apron and rear spoiler. As an option Arden will also supply a set of progressive-rate Arden sports springs, while a full sports suspension is under development.



21" wheels in an Arden “Sportline” design complete the look, while inside the car, the company can offer high-grade wood or carbon-fibre interior trim inserts, as well as new upholstery in leather or Alcantara.
