Description
Chassis No. WDB2094421T071712
The Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG debuted as a coupe in 2004 as a high-performance sports car that paid tribute to the brand's success in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM). All 100 coupes sold out immediately and, in 2005, its limited-production successor arrived as a cabriolet. Only 80 CLK DTM AMG Cabriolets were produced and, with a top speed of 300 km/h it quickly became the fastest four seat convertible in the world attracting the attention of motorsport luminaries the likes of Juan Pablo Montoya and Mika Häkkinen.
Developed by HWA AG and AMG, it featured a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine producing 582 horsepower and 800 nm of torque, delivering an exhilarating zero-to-100 km/h time of four seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h. The car's design mirrored the DTM race car, with aggressive styling, carbon fiber body panels, and a rear aerofoil. Larger AMG ceramic brakes are housed within the unique 19-inch front and 20-inch rear double six-spoke multi-piece AMG wheels. Inside, it featured leather-covered AMG sports bucket seats, a suede-covered racing steering wheel, and four-point seat belts for an authentic motorsport feel. In place of the ashtray, a row of switches allows the driver to easily and quickly turn off traction control, stability control, and transmission settings, allowing the car's full potential to be unleashed with just the flick of a switch.
This CLK DTM AMG Cabriolet was delivered new in Germany in 2006 in menacing Obsidian Black over a Black Alcantara interior and was then exported to South Korea, where it featured as a museum display. The car then returned to Europe in 2016, where it was serviced by Mercedes-Benz Eberbach with just 19,471 kilometers before being acquired by the current owner shortly thereafter. The car was later serviced by the owner's in-house mechanic in April 2021 at 21,575 kilometers. With selective road use, the car stands at just under 22,000 kilometers at the time of cataloging, with a recent service completed in France by an official Mercedes-Benz dealer in January 2024. As a stunning black example, this rarely seen, high-performance variant of the CLK remains in splendid condition today. Blending the best of its DTM-inspired design with the airiness of the Cabriolet, the car is furnished with two keys, owner's manual, and a service book.
