Description

Chassis No. WDB4632741X293925

Few Mercedes-Benz models are as iconic as the Geländewagen, and for good reason. Introduced in 1979, the "G-Wagen" remained largely unchanged for nearly 40 years, evolving from a rugged, no-frills off-roader into a luxurious yet still supremely capable all-terrain vehicle. Born from a collaboration with Austria's Steyr-Daimler-Puch, the original W460 model set Mercedes on a path that no corporate strategy could have predicted. Initially designed for military and utility use, it gradually gained popularity among civilians, eventually positioning Mercedes-Benz as a legitimate rival to Land Rover, the long-time king of this segment.

The early 1990s marked a turning point with the debut of the W463 platform and, in 1994, a rebranding to simply "G-Class." These updates reflected the growing demand for more refined interiors and everyday usability. Permanent all-wheel drive replaced the previous on-demand system, and upscale features were introduced-without compromising off-road ability. V8 and even V12 engines followed, boosting the G-Class's performance and luxury appeal.

Then came a showstopper: the Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet, unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. This limited-production masterpiece fused the ruggedness of the G-Class with Maybach's tradition of opulence. Its wheelbase stretched an extra 578 mm, offering ample space for passengers in the rear-where things truly impress. Rear occupants enjoy individually adjustable seats with hot-stone massage functions, a retractable Landaulet soft top, a power-operated glass partition, and heated/cooled cupholders-all reminiscent of a chauffeured limousine. Under the hood lies the Mercedes-AMG M279: a 6.0-liter biturbo V12 engine delivering 621 horsepower and 1,000 nm of torque. Hand-assembled by a single technician, it showcases Mercedes' commitment to craftsmanship and performance.

This particular G 650 Landaulet was ordered new in France on 18 May 2018 in Monza Gray Magno with an Exclusive Black and Brown Nappa leather interior. Remaining in France since new, the car has only covered a mere 5,000 kilometers at the time of cataloging-all with its single private owner from new. The car benefits from a recently performed service in October 2024. Presented in an elegant color combination in near-new condition, this Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet is one of only 99 examples produced worldwide and is sure to demand the astonished looks and attention of onlookers wherever its travels may take it.
