The 1971 Bay Window Volkswagen Camper, also known as the Type 2 or Kombi, is a beloved classic in the campervan community. Renowned for its iconic rounded front and expansive windscreen, this model combines retro charm with practical design. It features a spacious, versatile interior ideal for road trips and camping, complete with fold-out beds, a small kitchen, and ample storage. The reliable air-cooled engine ensures a dependable performance. Embraced by the counterculture of the 1970s, the Bay Window Volkswagen Camper remains a symbol of freedom and adventure, cherished by vintage vehicle enthusiasts and collectors alike.
First registered on 14th June 1972, this wonderful T2 Campervan was bought by the vendor during the Covid lockdown as a way to enjoy the outdoors. This campervan has served it's owners well and is only being sold to help fund a move. Accompanied by a good history file, the van has recently benefitted from having power steering fitted, a quick shift kit, new leisure battery, servicing of rear brakes, gear linkage, new fan belt, new alternator and the fitting of seat belts. The top opens up to create two bunk beds, whilst the lower section houses a seating and cooking section with lots of storage, gas and electric heating, electric hook up and even a folding table. Whilst the bodywork isn't perfect with some signs of rust in a few spots, this great campervan is a very usable and practical example well suited to family road trips either here in the UK or roaming abroad.
It is supplied with a V5C registration document and a good history file. Very practical and enviably cool, this lovely campervan is sure to create many happy memories for the lucky new owner. Consigned by Will Penrose
