Description

The 2001 Porsche 996 Turbo “Hurricane” is a remarkable one-off race car developed with a “cost-no-object” approach to dominate the SCCA ST0 class. Commissioned by Scott Tucker, it was constructed by Kelly-Moss Motorsports and dp Motorsports, featuring extensive modifications to enhance performance and handling.

Key Specifications and Features:
• Engine and Performance: The “Hurricane” is powered by a heavily modified 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, capable of producing up to 1,050 horsepower. This significant increase from the stock 415 horsepower was achieved through advanced engineering and high-performance components.
• Body and Aerodynamics: The car features a full carbon composite body, reducing weight and enhancing aerodynamics. This lightweight construction contributes to improved speed and agility on the track.
• Suspension and Handling: Equipped with state-of-the-art DSSV dampers with G valves, the suspension system is designed for optimal handling and stability. The car also includes a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system with custom components for maximum strength and performance.
• Braking System: The “Hurricane” is fitted with PFC water-cooled brakes featuring infrared temperature sensors, ensuring efficient cooling and consistent braking performance under extreme conditions.

Racing Achievements:

The “Hurricane” achieved notable success in the SCCA ST0 class, securing national championships in 2011 and 2012. Its advanced engineering and high-performance capabilities made it a formidable competitor on the track.

The car today:

The car is in operational condition and its engine and chassis capacities are simply mind-blowing, but it should naturally be subjected to normal pre-race safety checks and set up as it hasn't been used in competition for quite som years now.
