Description
Following Daimler's successful reintroduction of the Maybach marque through its S-Class sedan lineup, the company expanded the ultra-luxury designation to a limited-production convertible. The 2017 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet emerged as the pinnacle of open motoring in the Mercedes range, surpassing even the formidable Mercedes-AMG S 65 Cabriolet.
At the heart of this exceptional model lay AMG's 6.0-liter biturbo V12 engine, designated M275. With an output of 621 horsepower and a remarkable 738 lb-ft of torque, the S650 Cabriolet achieved a manufacturer-claimed 0-60 mph time of 4.0 seconds. Power was delivered to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission, specially chosen to handle the engine's considerable torque.
The exterior of the S 650 Cabriolet distinguished itself through a generously appointed chrome treatment, including a twin-blade grille and lower front fascia with high-gloss accents. Standard Swarovski crystal headlights, typically optional on lesser models, further elevated its appearance. The striking disc wheels, punctuated by 20 decorative holes and fitted with simulated central-locking caps, completed the Cabriolet's grand exterior.
Mercedes-Maybach offered the S 650 Cabriolet in a handful of carefully curated exterior and interior combinations, with this example wearing classic Designo Magno Cashmere White paint complemented by Black Nappa leather. The interior features distinctive "waterfall" and diamond-quilted stitching patterns unique to the model, while chrome lettering reading "1 of 300" adorns the center console lid. Delivered new through Mercedes-Benz BERESA Bielefeld, the order documentation for this particular S 650 Cabriolet shows that the Maybach designation added a staggering €85,650 to the €214,350 base price, pushing its original sticker price north of €300,000. Now offered from the original owner in showroom-fresh condition with just 51 kilometers at the time of listing, the car is accompanied by a collection of original bespoke accessories: Black Nappa leather four-piece luggage set, a diamond-quilted car cover bearing the Maybach insignia, and a certificate with Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche's signature.
