The Aston Martin Vanquish represented a bridge between classic craftsmanship and modern manufacturing techniques. Each car was hand-built at Aston Martin’s Newport Pagnell facility, combining traditional coachbuilding methods with cutting-edge technology. With just 1,486 units produced, the Vanquish has since become a collector’s item, symbolising the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in Aston Martin’s evolution into the modern supercar.

However, no iconic car is complete without a great engine, and the Vanquish ticks the boxes perfectly. The 5.9-litre V12 is a masterpiece. Maximum power arrives at 6,500 rpm and the 460 horsepower is enough to exceed 306 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds! The engine is common to other Aston products and, although it sounds good in a DB9 or V12 Vantage, thanks to the specific intake and exhaust manifolds it has a more visceral and symphonic 'roar' in the Vanquish.

This was also the first Aston with an automated manual transmission and paddle shifters, a system called ASM (Auto Shift Manual). It is a six-speed Tremec manual transmission with electro-hydraulic clutch actuation, thus eliminating the clutch pedal. It can be used 100% in automatic mode, however it is in manual mode that it feels most comfortable!

Its appearance in “Die Another Day” also secured its place in James Bond history and helped make this model instantly recognisable. As soon as you step inside, you know this is a special car tailored to fit an agent of Her Majesty. It took “just” eight Conolly cows to give the Vanquish its distinctive interior!

This Vanquish, from August 2005, is equipped with the SDP – Sport Dynamic Pack – consisting of improved suspension and braking, the same as those used on the Vanquish S. It is fitted with exclusive 20-inch Kahn Design wheels and also features a Linn sound system, heated front seats with electrical adjustment, and a 2+2 seating arrangement. All maintenance is stamped in the owner's manual and the gearbox has recently undergone a complete overhaul.
