Description
A total matching numbers example that was supplied new in September 1972 through the official Ferrari dealer W.H. Lowe Automobiles Pty. Ltd. in Melbourne, Australia. It was originally delivered in the very attractive Azzurro Dino Metallizzato over a Nero vinyl trim and shortly after delivery, its first owner, Tom Luxton, commissioned W.H. Lowe to fit a bespoke air conditioning system to the car, which still remains today.
Mr Luxton would go on to retain the car for over three decades and during his ownership the maintenance and service work was reportedly exclusively carried out by W.H. Lowe. When he eventually parted with the car in 2002, it was showing just 34,526 miles on the clock, which was reported as being the original mileage from new.
Whilst under the care of the second and third owners, the car covered a further 5,500 miles. During this period, the colour of the car was changed to the stunning Nero over Beige leather that it is presented in today. In July 2013, prior to export to the UK, the Dino 246 underwent comprehensive service works by Ferrari specialists, Terzini Motore of Melbourne, Australia.
Upon arrival in the UK in November 2013, further detailed service and preparation works were completed by an official Ferrari service centre, before being acquired by the previous owner since which time this Dino 246 GT has formed part of his exquisite car collection and has covered a further 2,000 miles.
Before delivery to its next custodian, the car will receive a full up-to-date service from marque specialists and is offered complete with original handbooks, spare keys, car cover and a documented history file.
The car is presented in excellent condition throughout and represents exceptional value for money.
