Description

Chassis No. 182106415

Body No. 487503810

For the 1935 model year, Ford unveiled striking new styling from Phil Wright. Among the standout models was the De Luxe Phaeton, an elegant open-top vehicle offering a stylish and spacious touring experience for families. With just over 6,000 produced, the Phaeton was a relatively rare model in a Ford lineup that outsold Chevrolet by over 150,000 vehicles that year.

Comprehensively restored in tan with red pinstriping, this 1935 Ford De Luxe Phaeton was awarded with an AACA Senior National First Prize award in 1996. During restoration the body was refinished with tan paint with a red pinstripe and refinished brightwork. Furthermore, a fresh Phaeton soft top in oatmeal with brown edging and reworked wood and chrome irons were installed. Important period details that the judges rewarded were De Luxe Spartan horns with Ford Twolite headlights up front, an interior upholstered in brown leather with rubber floor mats, and Duolamp taillights out back. Acquired by the Academy of Art University Collection in 2011 this AACA Senior National First Prize winner features just 820 miles since restoration.
