Description
Re-using a nickname given to the original 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione after its win of the Tour de France Automobile in 1956, the F12 Tour de France (TdF) is the latest limited edition front-engined, Ferrari V12 GT car. At its heart, the 6.3-litre V12 lifted from the F12 Berlinetta, uprated from an already hefty 730 bhp to 769 bhp with an 8900 rpm rev limit. This affords the naturally aspirated F12 TdF 123 bhp per litre, through the use of a revised inlet manifold and mechanical rather than hydraulic tappets.
Shorter gear ratios enable a 2.9 second sprint to 60 mph with 120 mph just five seconds later. These changes make for a 1:21.00 lap of Fiorano, second only to the LaFerrari by 1.3 seconds. The F12 TdF is 110 kg lighter than the F12 Berlinetta, thanks to the prominent use of Alcantara and Carbon Fibre in the interior instead of Leather and Aluminium, and the extensive use of Carbon Fibre on the outside. Fitted for the first time on a Ferrari road car the TdF creates a ‘virtual short wheelbase’ system through the use of active rear-wheel steering; actuators on the toe link add up to a degree of angle greatly increasing stability. Visually the F12 TdF draws many cues from great Ferrari GT cars.
This UK supplied RHD example was supplied new to British nobility in 2017 by Dick Lovett Ferrari. As we understand, the reason behind this car makes it a unique proposition. The first owner was a friend of the late Gianni Agnelli, famed Italian industrialist and former principal shareholder of Fiat. After assisting Agnelli in the 1980s, the commissioner was afforded a unique opportunity - should there be a Ferrari he wanted, one should be made available. A favour he called upon just twice before, this F12 TdF was chosen as number three.
Benefitting from a wealth of options, the highlights of the specification of this F12 TdF:
Blu Tour de France over Alcantara Nera with stitching in Blu Sterling
Adaptive frontlight system

A fitting colour for a Tour de France, Blu Tour de France was introduced in 1997 and has remained on the standard colour palette to date. Both gracious and sporting, it affords the F12 TdF an elegance yet was optioned on fewer than 20 examples from new. Understood to be 1 of just 2 UK supplied examples in the colour, this TdF today presents superbly accompanied by its original books and spare key and presenting today with just 260 miles from new.
