Description

The Jaguar XJ-S offered here is one of the first Convertible models, from which production started in 1988. First registered in August 1989 in Germany, this XJ-S is finished in a very timeless combination of Black over Tan leather, with matching Walnut trim.

The very subtle double pinstripe on the body and the gleaming paintwork let this XJ-S really stand out. The original 16" wheels are in pristine condition and are shod with the correct Pirelli tyres.
On behalf of the current owner, this XJ-S has undergone large maintenance at Jaguar Classic Works in Germany, the official Classic department of Jaguar Land Rover Limited, from which the invoice of a total of more than 22.000 euros is available.

No expenses spared, the condition of this example is outstanding. The silky smooth 5.3 litre V12 deliveres efforltess performance, and really suits the XJ-S as being a genuine Grand Tourer.

The Jaguar XJ-S, first launched in 1975 as the replacement for the famous E-Type, can nowadays be seen as one of Coventry's finest cars from the past 50 years.

Although born in a difficult time just after the 1974 oil crisis, following the launch of a much more fuel efficient 5.3 HE V12 engine in 1981, and a new 3.6 straight six in 1983, the XJ-S became an even more attractive car.

Under the ownership of the Ford Motor Company, a facelift was introduced in 1991 for the 1992 model year, in which the name was changed to XJS and a new 4.0 litre straight six was introduced as well as a 6.0 litre version of the famous V12 engine, now matched with a 4-speed automatic gearbox from General Motors. Until the final year of production in 1996, the XJS remained popular ever since.
