Description

Singer Vehicle Design was founded in 2009 by British singer-songwriter Rob Dickinson. Through his love of the Porsche brand, he wanted to preserve and enhance Porsche's famed air-cooled 911s. The 964 model was chosen as the base for Singer’s aspiration in creating the ultimate 911. Over the past 15 years, Singer Vehicle Design has risen to fame for creating the finest redesigned, reengineered, bespoke 911s.

Known as the ‘Sheffield Commission’ this example started life as a UK supplied 964 Carrera Targa. It was dispatched to Singer's headquarters in the USA at the request of its previous owner in 2018 to commence its bespoke design with the remit to be the ultimate reimagined Singer Classic Targa. Consisting of the highest mechanical & cosmetic specification, the options alone on the car total almost $373,000. Due to various delays in production availability, it took some five years for this particular Singer to be completed, however the results were well worth the wait!

This is the only right-hand drive Targa built with the higher specification 4.0 Motorsport engine. Less than 30 Singer Classics in total were delivered with this engine, constructed to Singer’s specification by Porsche Motorsport North America & costing almost 50% more than the Ed Pink 4.0 option. With the combination of Ohlins damping, Brembo ceramic brakes, the titanium exhaust, velocity stacks and a 6-speed G 50 manual gearbox it is one very special build.

Exterior features include: bespoke PTS finish in Steel City Blue, bespoke racing side stripe graphics and lettering in blue blood painted on body, ‘Reimagined’ painted on bodywork in blue blood, touring trim bumpers with rubber inserts, an early 911 engine lid grille in mesh black finish, raised engine lettering and additional script in nickel, bespoke rear fog lamps, Fuchs style wheels in Nickel with Blue Blood Backgrounds, brake callipers in silver with script in Blue Blood, titanium lug nuts, and full paint protection film.

Finally, the pièce de résistance is its interior: a masterpiece of design and finished by world-renowned Connolly leather tanners and curriers. Dye to sample Connolly leather & nubuck interior with twin stipe, touring seats with leather seat backs & nickel gromets, rear jacuzzi in leather, rear seat delete, early 911 gauge set with additional ‘tell-tale‘ tachometer, ebony & walnut ‘Le Mans’ style gear knob with script in Blue Blood, bespoke fluted leather targa headliner & custom leather sun visors, Momo ‘Mod 7’ steering wheel in matching leather, bespoke sill guards in Blue Blood with ‘Everything is Important’ script, custom build plaque, Porsche classic navigation system including Apple CarPlay & DAB, an upgraded audio amplifier, Dynaudio speakers and a subwoofer.

Fresh from completing its annual service carried out by Singer Vehicle Design UK, presented in as new condition throughout and complete with its leather handbook pack, Scorpion tracker system, Singer gilet, Singer travel bag, Singer car cover, Singer seat and steering wheel covers, fire extinguisher, battery conditioner, spare keys and dedicated history file with many images documenting the build process.
