The Ford Escort Mk. II RS2000, was produced from 1975 to 1980, and is a legendary rally car that has become an icon in motorsport history. Renowned for its performance and handling, the RS2000 was powered by a 2.0-litre engine, generating around 115 bhp and allowing for impressive acceleration and agility on both roads and rally stages. Its distinctive styling makes it a standout model in the Escort lineup and a firm favourite for Ford collectors. Weighing in at just over 900 kg, the Mk. II RS2000 benefitted from a lightweight construction, paired with a sport-tuned suspension that enhanced its cornering ability. The car enjoyed considerable success in motorsport, contributing to Ford's dominance in rallying during the late '70s.

Presented in Carnival Red this example was first registered 9th January 1976 and has been transformed into a fast road/rally car, upgraded for the ultimate driving experience as our vendor can testify too. Sitting on 15' Revolution wheels powder coated in gold fitted with Toyo Proxes R888R tyres with a Minilite spare wheel on boot this example is powered by the iconic 2.0 SOHC Pinto engine bored out to 2100cc, paired to a stage 3 Pinto cylinder head and twin carb setup for impressive performance. Equipped with limited slip differential and upgraded suspension and upgraded hydraulic clutch, a performance stainless steel race exhaust system and manifold this is an incredibly well put together example that would be equally as fun and capable both on track, on the dirt or on the road. Stopping the car are upgraded front brakes with drilled and grooved discs and further safety includes a full roll cage but still sensible to get into, OMP WRC seats and OMP Harness and OMP Superleggera steering wheel. The engine bay is strengthened by a strut brace, the fuel tank has been replaced with an aluminium example and the ignition is an electronic Bestek system. This example looks, sounds and performs fabulously, whether you're intending to compete on a rally stage, hill climb/track race or indeed just use as a fast road example heads will turn, offered with a sensible guide price, viewing is recommended for such a desirable setup.
