Description

Aermacchi Harley-Davidson grand prix racebike
The extremely rare early aircooled model was only build for the worksriders as Pasolini, Bonera, Rougeri and some Italian champioship riders. The 250 cc aircooled twins employed dual separately removable cranks, had individual cylinder and large finned heads , straight-cut gears, a six-speed gearbox and exposed dry clutch, twin Mikuni 34 mm carbs, twin tuned expansion chambers, a Dansi CD ignition and developed 55 hp at the rear wheel at 12,000 rpm, good for 230 km/h (143 mph). When Renzo Pasolini ( viceworldchampion '72) was killed at monza on the new 250 RR in 1973 the older bikes were dismantled and shelved. Later in the 90ies former works machanic Albino Fabris bought the obsolete stock of bikes and parts from the factory and started re-asssembling the former racebikes. This bike is the second aircooled he build up from these worksparts. Aircooled 250RR were never sold to custormers so are extremely rare. Only handfull are known to exist . Please PM for more info
