Only 3’897 examples of the rather rapid Rover Vitesse with its electronic fuel injection were completed between 1982 and 1986. This example was delivered in Switzerland and handed over to its first owner on the 16th September 1985 by the Auto Center Münchenstein. For the SD1 with its 193 horsepower 3.5 litre V8, 5 speed gearbox, power steering, electrically operated window, electrically operated sliding roof and air conditioning the considerable sum of around 40’000 Swiss francs was invoiced. After a few owners in the cantons Basel, Bern and Zurich, the Rover was taken over be the vendor in 2019 with then showing 153’000 kilometres. He had the coachwork of his Vitesse restored and repainted in the same year. Over the last five years the saloon was only rarely used and now shows a plausible 160’700 kilometres shown with the service booklet and the emission control document. The air condition has been deactivated due to lack of a proper cooling agent but otherwise the car is in good to very good condition. The last MOT was completed in October 2019.
