The transaxle Porsche coupé lineage, starting with the 924 of 1976, was famed for beautifully balanced handling. This was even more pronounced come the 1992 introduction of the 968 Club Sport. The stripped-out model featured reduced sound deadening, manual windows, Recaro bucket seats, simplified door cards, a smaller battery and wiring loom, no back seats, and no rear wiper. The resulting 100-kilogram weight saving, combined with a 20-millimetre ride height drop plus wider 17-inch wheels, created a celebrated track-focused special.
According to the original purchase invoice, this Black over Black example was delivered on 5 March 1993 to Tag Porsche Center of Liege, Belgium equipped with a fire extinguisher and radio. The car boasts single ownership from new, and the odometer displays 68,365 kilometres at the time of cataloguing.
As a special edition of the 968, the last front-engined coupé by Porsche to feature a four-cylinder engine, this sought-after Club Sport would no doubt be just as comfortable on the track as it would be on twisting roads.
