Description
Chassis No. WDB1240361C200075
In the 1990s, Mercedes aimed to outshine its rival BMW with its W124-generation E-Class. Working in collaboration with Porsche, the E-Class was redesigned, adding a powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine. The collaboration resulted in a wider sports sedan that required a unique production process involving both Mercedes' Sindelfingen plant and Porsche's Karosserie Baur in Zuffenhausen. This exclusive production process took an astonishing 18 days!
To commemorate the model's worldwide success, a "Limited" variant was offered in 1994 and 1995. These cars, designated with option code 958, featured distinctive patterned leather on the seats, steering wheel, gear selector knob, and owner's manual pouch, along with bird's-eye maple wood trim and 17-inch EVO II forged alloy wheels. A total of 951 E 500 Limited were produced. An even rarer and more exclusive variant was offered for those looking for the ultimate in performance-the E 60 AMG. These cars boasted a hand-built 6.0-liter V8 engine delivering 381 horsepower and the AMG Technology Package (option code 957) as indicated on the data card. The combination of option codes 957 and 958 created one of the rarest and most coveted versions of the W124 line, the E 60 AMG Limited.
On offer here, this highly sought after 1995 E 60 AMG Limited is believed to be one of only 45 examples built. Originally ordered from the Munich sales branch, it was finished in Sapphire Black Metallic (009) with the eye-catching Gray and Blue patterned leather (288) interior. In addition to the upgraded engine, the car also boasts an AMG exhaust system, a tuned AMG suspension, and 17-inch "Aero III" three-piece wheels with body-colored centers as part of the AMG Technology Package.
The accompanying history file shows that the car was previously in Japan before being imported to the United Arab Emirates in 2014, where it was regularly serviced through 2021, after which it was imported to the United States in 2023. This 1995 Mercedes-Benz E 60 AMG Limited is an extremely rare and desirable vehicle, offering a chance to own the iconic super sedan from the 1990s.
