Description

In 2013, Mercedes-Benz unveiled what they described as “the most effortlessly superior and extravagant off-roader ever developed”: the G63 AMG 6x6. Measuring twenty feet in length, weighing 9,000lb and boasting six wheels driven by AMG’s 544hp V8, the car was unlike anything the world had seen before or since. Equipped with five differentials which could be locked on the move and a state-of-the-art tyre pressure control system, just over 100 units were built between 2013 and 2015, making it one of the most exclusive and expensive Mercedes-Benz models ever produced.

For those seeking even more exclusivity, renowned German tuning house Brabus built the car you see here, the G700 6x6. Introduced at the 2013 IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt, only thirty examples are believed to exist. Mechanical enhancements included: Custom Brabus turbochargers with a larger compressor, gold heat reflection sheeting around the intakes, new charge-air pipes to lower the temperature, high-performance catalysts with 75mm downpipes for lower back pressure, Brabus stainless-steel exhaust with switchable butterfly valves to control the sound of the quad centerpipes and a custom Brabus ECU program. The result was a 156hp increase in power to 700hp and an increase in torque between 2,000 and 4,500 rpm from 561lb-ft to a massive 708lb-ft., enabling the car to reach 100 km/h from standstill in only 7.4 seconds.

Externally, the G700 6x6 differs from the standard car with a Brabus grille, a custom front spoiler with integrated LED driving lights, carbon fiber hood cover and fenders, polished front underride guard and headlights integrating turn signals which allowed the large Mercedes units on top of the front fenders to be deleted. While the interior of the factory 6×6 was already very luxurious, Brabus reupholstered the seats, door panels, floor and headliner with even finer quality leather and diamond quilted stitching and installed Brabus stainless steel door plates, illuminated kick-plates and aluminum pedals. Finally the wood panelling in the rear cab of the standard car was replaced with finer quality lacquered wood from Brabus.

The example for sale here is a genuine Brabus G700 6x6 finished in striking special order Designo Mystic Blue, the only 6x6 in this color in the world. Now certified under U.S. Show or Display regulations and fully converted for use on U.S. public roads (at a cost of $120,000), and recently serviced by Mercedes-Benz Delray, FL, the car is ready to be enjoyed by the next owner.
