Description
Registration number: CH-20-88
In 1963, Chevrolet celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Corvette. As the model was incredibly popular, Chevrolet decided to mark the occasion with a stunning new Sting Ray design. Customers had the choice between a coupe or convertible, with the coupe featuring the now-legendary split rear window. Although this fantastic Corvette remained in the Chevrolet lineup until 1967, the split window was only available in the first year. We don’t need to tell you that this is the most coveted version among enthusiasts.
Do you know how some people describe this Corvette? “Art in motion.” That is certainly true for our Sting Ray, as this Corvette has a fantastic appearance, highlighted by the sporty Riverside Red, which further enhances the muscle car character. At the same time, the whitewalls provide a typical 1960s look. Let’s be honest: the combination of the red color and the split rear window makes this Corvette incredibly sexy. It’s a delightful car with the correct look, and this car has everything going for it.
This example comes with three volumes of valuable documentation, which is not only fantastic for the true enthusiast but also demonstrates the careful maintenance and passion for the car. Note that the documentation with invoices goes back almost 40 years. Amazing, right? The original manual is also still present.
This is, therefore, a rare Split Window version, and the car is in very good condition.
This Corvette has been in Europe since 1987 and underwent a thorough restoration, including overhaul work. This is clearly evident from the car, but we want to emphasize that the original details have been preserved, giving us the ideal combination of a Corvette that is beautifully maintained while retaining its authentic charm. In short, the restoration work was carried out with care. With only light signs of use, the exterior is in very good condition. The Riverside Red has a beautiful and deep gloss and looks fresh. The chrome bumpers, together with the chrome trims, wheels, and windows, are all still in excellent condition, and all the emblems look fresh.
In the interior, we find beautiful upholstery and a dashboard that is both in very good condition and completely original. That’s how we like to see them. It’s immediately noticeable that the door seals, for example, were replaced in the past, and the entire interior, including the carpets, makes a well-kept impression. The black upholstery is also incredibly attractive in combination with the red color.
Technically, this Corvette is in good shape. The eight-cylinder engine loves to make itself heard, starts quickly, and runs smoothly with an unmistakable sound. The transmission is easy to operate, and the handling of this Corvette is excellent. The underside of the car is also in pristine condition. Take a look at the photos on our website for a good impression of this Corvette.
