Description
The Porsche 993 marked the culmination of the air-cooled engine era. Manufactured between 1994 and 1998, technical advances included a new six-speed manual transmission, a multi-link rear suspension for improved handling, and a VarioRam intake system that improved torque delivery across the engine’s rpm range. For the 1996 model year, an open-air Targa variant debuted with an electric glass roof and retractable sunshade.
One of 567 models exported to North America in 1997, this uniquely specified 993 Targa was custom ordered through Porsche of Beverly Hills, California. Fitted with the desirable six-speed manual transmission for increased driver engagement, this Targa was finished in Grand Prix White contrasted by a trim-to-sample Provence Blue supple leather interior with Dark Rootwood trim on the shifter and brake handle. Additional options chosen included heated power seats with lumbar support, Litronic headlights, hi-fi sound package, six-disc CD changer, onboard computer, and stainless steel tailpipes. Presenting in very original condition throughout, this Targa was recently maintained within the Texas-based White Collection, and showed less than 30,000 miles on its odometer at the time of cataloguing. Supplied with books, tools, jack, spare, and an NOS set of split-rim Targa wheels, this exceptionally appointed 993 Carrera Targa makes a compelling choice for casual enthusiasts and devoted Porsche collectors alike.
