The Ghia 450 SS Cabriolet offered here in its original and classic color combination of silver met. and bordeaux leather interior with the iconic original seats based on the Eames chair is number 45 of only 57 cars built. The “delivery plaque” on the dashboard “Specially built for” is neutral - it probably served as a show car for Ghia of America in LA. The car was imported to Switzerland in 2013 and completely restored over several years with thousands of hours of work to a high standard, professionally and without regard to cost. This beautiful Ghia 450 SS Cabriolet has a FIVA Identity Card, is well maintained and is in perfect collector's condition with new tires and a fresh veteran's inspection. It is comprehensively documented from 1982 onwards and the original US title, various magazines, correspondence, original newspaper articles from 1966 and invoices dating back to 1977 are also present, as is the original hardtop in unrestored condition.

The Ghia 230S Coupé (1963) on the cover of Road & Track motivated Hollywood producer Burt Sugarman (BS) to commission Ghia to produce the 450 SS in 1965. By agreement, it was sold through his new subsidiary Ghia of America on Whilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles for the incredible price of 13,000 US dollars. At the time, the price exceeded that of a Ferrari 250.

The Ghia 450 SS (displacement + Super Sport) was originally presented at the 1966 International Motor Show in Turin and was produced by hand in very limited numbers until 1967. Officially, only 52 (but 57 by chassis number) examples were produced and sold exclusively through the importer in Beverly Hills to those who could afford such a car. These included a number of film and music stars. It is estimated that around 35 known cars still exist today.

Beim hier angebotenen Ghia 450 SS Cabriolet in seiner originalen und klassischen Farbkombination Silber met. und Lederinterieur bordeaux mit den ikonischen originalen, dem Eames-Chair nachempfundenen Sitzen, handelt es sich um die Nummer 45 von nur 57 gebauten Fahrzeugen. Die «Auslieferplakette» am Armaturenbrett «Specially built for» ist neutral – es diente vermutlich als Showcar für Ghia of America in LA. Das Auto wurde 2013 in die Schweiz importiert und über mehrere Jahre mit tausenden von Arbeitsstunden auf hohem Niveau, professionell und ohne Rücksicht auf Kosten, komplettrestauriert. Dieses wunderschöne Ghia 450 SS Cabriolet hat eine FIVA Identity Card, ist top gepflegt und befindet sich neu bereift und frisch veteranen-geprüft, zweifelsohne in perfektem Sammlerzustand. Es ist ab 1982 umfassend dokumentiert und der originale US-Title, verschiedene Magazine, Schriftverkehr, originaler Zeitungsartikel von 1966 und Rechnungen teilweise zurück bis 1977, sind ebenso vorhanden wie das originale Hardtop in unrestauriertem Zustand.

Der Preis übertraf damals denjenigen eines Ferraris 250.

Die Ghia 450 SS (Hubraum + Super Sport) wurde ursprünglich auf der Internationalen Automobilausstellung 1966 in Turin vorgestellt und bis 1967 in sehr begrenzten Stückzahlen handwerklich produziert. Es wurden offiziell nur 52 (nach Chassis Nummern jedoch 57) Exemplare hergestellt und ausschließlich über den Importeur in Beverly Hills an diejenigen verkauft, die sich ein solches Auto leisten konnten. Darunter befanden sich einige Film- und Musikstars. Heute existieren geschätzt noch ca. 35 bekannte Fahrzeuge.
