These seven beautiful Bentleys showcase the brand at their very best

Unrivalled style, impeccable attention to detail, and a road presence fit for a royal; Bentleys have always stood at the very top of the automotive world, and in RM Sotheby’s upcoming sale at Cliveden House on June 12th, there are plenty of beauties to choose from.

Even when looking over Bentley’s history in a timeframe of 32 years, the length of time in between the newest and oldest models that have been entered into RM Sotheby’s upcoming sale, it’s remarkable to see just how much changed within the brand. Always stately, always wonderfully designed, Bentley threads the needle between sports car and grand tourer better than just about any other brand in the 1930s, creating models that are still utterly adored to this day. After laying those sturdy foundations, Bentley settled down into their role as outfitters of the wealthy. They made cars for those who wanted to be driven in complete luxury, but also for those who wished to get behind the wheels themselves.

Of the seven stunners being presented for auction, the pre-war standouts come in the form of two open-top Tourers, one being an exacting replica of the 6½-Litre that entered into Le Mans in 1929 and 1930. If the effortless style of a mid-century Bentley is more your bag, RM Sotheby’s have collated a glorious line up to choose from. Our pick would be the 1954 Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback, one of just 207 examples made and finished in a stunning Pacific Green over Beige hide interior. Offering decadence and refinement for every passenger, Bentleys of this era were among some of the finest automobiles in the world, and offer a truly thrilling driving experience, one you’re not likely to forget for at least another 50 years!
