Description
The vessel was purchased in 2000 and transferred by sea to the “Rimessaggio del Tirreno” shipyard in Porto Santo Stefano.
The restoration work began there, which lasted two years.
In the following years they continued, improving and optimizing what had already been done.
The hull was completely brought to zero by removing the bottom and intervening on the structural part, reinforcing the keel with an IROKO keelson along its entire length.
Reclamation and reinforcement interventions were carried out on the hull edges as well as restoring the floors as was customary in the constructions of the time.
The hull was made using two sheets of 6 mm reinforced mahogany laminate and 15 mm mahogany slats to finish.
All screwed together with approximately 4000 silicon bronze screws.
Below deck, deck and gunwale have been completely redone.
The flybridge has been completely rebuilt.
Renovation of the electrical and plumbing systems, as well as the toilet and bilge systems.
The engine room was emptied and redone according to regulations.
In 2007, a pair of Detroit Diesel mod. v12-71 870 HP, coupled with ZF inverters also purchased in 2007.
The whole thing has less than 200 engine hours.
The stands and bushings have been replaced as well as the 75 axles made of 316 steel, coupled with 5-bladed Orvea propellers (2007).
This configuration allows you to reach a cruising speed of 23/24 knots and a maximum speed of 27/28 knots.
The engine room houses one of two groups (19kw Kohler) and the air conditioning system (Condaria).
A second group, (Kohler 9.5kw from 2009) and the watermaker (Idromar) are positioned in the stern peak.
The interior has been maintained in its originality, and any interventions were made using materials from other Admirals present in the area and which had been laid up.
The cabins as well as the bathrooms are absolutely original.
The sailors' cabin has been completely redone.
On the command bridge, all obsolete instruments were removed and current but minimally invasive equipment (Simrad) was installed.
The original Sailor radios, both VHF and SSB are in perfect working order.
There is a satellite TV and telephone/fax system (KWH), as well as a two-line GSM telephone system with a control unit that assists all cabins.
The kitchen has been completely rebuilt and is equipped with a 4-burner electric hob and oven.
The entire boat is air conditioned.
