1973 - the year it all officially began. As Rally Monte-Carlo raced to a start in the snowy winter month of January, little could we imagine that the sport would capture our imagination for 47 years and go strong. On the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the defining moment of James Hunt’s career - the 1976 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Champion title in the McLaren M23 winning, Automobilist developed a Fine Art taken inspired by the challenges at his title winning Japanese Grand Prix in 1976, along with a series of posters taking inspiration from the man and his life. A weathered McLaren M23, the exact font on Hunt’s helmet or his winning moment, no detail has been spared in ensuring an accurate representation of the man, machine and moments from 1976.
