Description
Donated by Nick Mason: 'Drumskins', two limited edition hand-finished silkscreen prints of original Pink Floyd drumskins, each highly decorated drumskin with central figure standing in front of a star, unmounted, comprising Remo Emperor coated 24 inch skin, numbered 3/10, signed by Nick Mason; and Remo Emperor coated 22 inch skin, numbered 3/10, signed by Nick Mason.
According to information supplied by Nick Mason "A couple of years ago we were moving all the drum kits and accessories to a new storage facility. Amongst the cymbal cases we found one that contained all the custom painted drum fronts that were painted for me by an artist, or artists, in the early seventies usually to coincide with American tours. I have pictures of these in place at a number of shows, and in the case of one set, they can be seen in 'Pink Floyd at Pompeii'. I thought it would be really nice to do a limited edition of ten hand finished silk screen prints of each drum head, this project being supervised by Kate Hepburn, the artist responsible for one pair, and Mathew of Jealous.'
