Forever associated with five-time Formula 1 World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio, the Maserati 250F is the quintessential front-engined Grand Prix car. Fangio won two Grand Prix races in the 250F, finishing the 1954 season as Formula 1 World champion for the second time. He won two further F1 World Championships for Mercedes, before getting back into a 250F developed by Giulio Alfieri for the 1957 season. In this car, Fangio won four World Championship races, including his legendary victory at the Nürburgring where he made up a 48 second delay following a botched pit stop. In doing so, he overtook the race leader, Mike Hawthorn on the penultimate lap, having broken Hawthorn's lap record ten times. This would be Fangio's last World Championship victory, a performance at the wheel of a Maserati 250F that has become legendary in Formula 1 history.

This magnificent 250F was built in Italy by a specialist craftsman. Comprising a steel chassis and polyester body, it is powered by a 125cc four-stroke engine with electric start. Gear box with reverse gear, Alcantara covered seat, removable wire wheels with tyres and inner tubes, adjustable pedals, hydraulic brakes on all four wheels and wooden and metal steering wheel. Weighing 85 kg, the car is 230 cm long, 80 cm wide and 60 cm high. Capable of a top speed of 45 km/h, this stunning child's Grand Prix 250F is beautifully detailed and in "as-new" condition.
