Description
"Bruce Meyers is quoted as saying, “I'm an artist and I wanted to bring a sense of movement and gesture to the Manx. Dune buggies have a message: fun. They’re playful to drive and should look like it. Nothing did at the time.” Sure enough, using a basic VW chassis and engine, this radical design concept proved an instant hit both in the US and then, later, in Europe.
This wonderful example looks superb in striking orange coachwork over a recently re-trimmed black interior, it is a (useful) four-seater with comfortable bucket seats to the fore. Reported to run and drive very well, this Manx looks outstanding and sits proudly on a set of original 1972 polished Porsche split-rim Fuchs wheels as used on the Carrera race cars of the period, said to be worth circa £6,000 alone. Used sparingly, the long-standing previous owner has only recorded some 1,900 miles in the last 18 years and with the current owner, even less! It should be noted that is fitted with the desirable and powerful 1600GT engine offering spirited driving for those more skilled drivers. It has been serviced recently, mileage-wise and is offered with a number of old MoT test certificates, a current UK registration document and a full one year’s MoT. These are generating much interest at the moment so get ahead of the crowd and enjoy the summer.
Interested parties should note that this vehicle is not a ‘Meyers Manx’ example. It is in fact a Volkswagen Beach Buggy by GP1."
