Description

This 1969 Volvo 1800S is completely unrestored and original other than the front seats. The car is fully functional and well maintained. The overdrive works, though the AC does not. The current owner knew the original owners who spent summers in New Haven (they were summer professors at Yale), and the summers were the only time the car was driven. It has never been driven in winter and has spent most of its life garaged. The Volvo dealer that originally sold the car is still there and knows the car. The mileage is said to be correct though we cannot verify. The "Volvo City West of Milford, CT" selling dealer emblem is still affixed on the rear under the license plate area.
The paint meters are between 2.1 and 3.6 mills all the way around beside the roof which is a bit higher at 6 though there is no evidence of paintwork there. The paint appears to be all original and in excellent condition per the age with blemishes that have been touched up throughout and one unsightly. The chrome is very nice for the age but does show wear and some pitting.

The mostly original interior is beautiful with great patina. The car starts quickly and runs very well though we have not put any significant time behind the wheel. The engine bay is very dirty but is highly original with remnants of original factory stickers, clamps, and markings.
