Description
The 140 series initiated the typical Volvo box design. Designer Jan Wilsgaard knew how to create a modern yet unagitated design. Our 144 (indicating a 4-door saloon), in the slightly more luxurious “Grand Luxe” edition with its optional sliding roof, is a Swiss delivery and was first registered on the 10th May 1972 in Biel. In 1994 the robust Swede, with then 225’000 kilometres driven, was taken over by a Volvo enthusiast and mechanic who, over the following ten years, restored the car himself. In 2021 he sold the 144 to its last owner who, in 2022, had all four tyres and the valve tappets replaced, and a major service performed. Since then the Volvo has only been driven around 1’500 kilometres and consequently present itself in good technical shape. The coachwork as well as the black leather interior present themselves in very good shape. The last veteran MOT was completed in March 2025.
