Description
Gabriel Voisin was a brilliant constructer and one of the France’s greatest aviation pioneer. In 1907 he built the first practical aeroplane capable of leaving the ground under its own power. During the WWI his company Avions Voisin had become the leading producer of the aircraft for the Armée de l'Air (the French Air Force). However, at the end of WWI the aircraft production stopped and Gabriel Voisin utilized the capacity of 2000 employees for a car production.
Voisin C4S was introduced to the public in 1924 as improved version of C4. His four-cylinder sleeve valve engine with the capacity of 1.328 ccm developed 33 BHP. Comparing to the model C4 output been increased by 10% and had improvements as the front wheel brakes, dynastart to the front of the crankshaft or rare overdrive. Our exemplar with the chassis number #18708 has a sporty body type torpedo skiff by J. Rouvet. It was in a private collection of an important Spanish collector, who preserved the car for decades in a good condition.
