THE PALMEN BARNFIND COLLECTION BY GALLERY AALDERING - AUCTIONED BY CLASSIC CAR AUCTIONS
— View the entire auction on www.classiccar-auctions.com —
The car offered here is one of the most iconic and distinctive models in the collection: the Tatra T87. It was a luxury car produced between 1936 and 1950 by the Tatra factory in what was then Czechoslovakia. It was one of the most advanced cars of its time, with a streamlined body that was aerodynamically designed to give the car low air resistance, allowing it to reach a higher top speed. The Tatra T87 was equipped with an air-cooled, rear-mounted V8 engine that produced 85 hp. Because of this, the car had a top speed of about 160 km/h, which was impressive for that time. The car also had advanced technology, such as independent suspension and disc brakes, which were very innovative for the time. The interior of the Tatra T87 was spacious and comfortable, with room for five passengers. The car had a striking design, with details such as the 3 lamps in the front and the fin on the rear. This is one of the most recognizable points of the car. The design of the car was very influential and inspired later car designers, including Ferdinand Porsche, who used the design of the T87 as a basis for the Volkswagen Beetle. The production of the Tatra T87 was limited by the Second World War, so only 3,056 cars were produced. Today, copies of the Tatra T87 are very rare and much loved because of their unique design and technology. There is not often one for sale.
The cars on offer are part of a static collection that has been accumulated over the last 40 years. They are mainly in an unrestored, original but dusty condition. We have not tried to start any of the cars. We have been informed that the engines have been turned, on a regular basis, but the exact condition of the cars and the engines is unknown to us.
You can inspect the cars on the viewing days for which you have to make a reservation through our ticketshop - www.eventix.shop/xmxuc9fs.
