Description
"1973 STERLING NOVA
Volkswagen engine
The exhibition model of the Paris Motor Show
First hand with 44 000 kilometers
When Richard Oakes, a car enthusiast, and Phil Sayers, an engineer, met, they had the ambition to produce a sports car with a futuristic look. After several months of preparation, they finally present their new car: the Nova Sterling. This car is the result of a development orchestrated by the British company Automotive Design and Development in which the two men mentioned above work. The principle of this car is simple because it is a kit car based on a Volkswagen Beetle chassis. With the agreement of the German manufacturer, the company ADD will propose the engines of the Beetle: the 1.2L, the 1.6L, the 1.7L and the 2.0L. The production of this car starts in 1971 but it is not easy to give the exact production figures. Marketed under the name of ""DEFI"" in France, it would have been produced at approximately 110 copies for the Hexagon.
The car we are presenting today is probably the most mythical model of the French production since it is the one that was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1972. It was at that time that it was ordered by the current owner. Yes, it's a first hand! The original engine being blocked, it is a spare part and comes with the car. Under the hood, you will find a 1200cc Beetle engine that allows the car to move. The brakes have been redone, good news! The bodywork is sound, which allows you to enjoy this very nice futuristic body. In short, this Nova Sterling is a real museum piece. People won't get tired of looking at it. Its fighter plane-like windshield will not fail to get you noticed at gatherings or at the gas pump.
This beautiful futuristic car is looking for a future buyer who will take care of it. "
