With the R8 Gordini dropping out of competition, the Simca 1000's lifelong rival on the racetrack, Chrysler-Simca was able to concentrate its efforts on more competitive endeavours. In 1972, the Rallye 1, the replacement for the 1000 Rallye, was born. Powered by a 1296 cc, 60-horsepower engine, it immediately established itself as an excellent basis for sports preparations. The launch of Rallye 1 coincided with the foundation of the Simca Racing Team, which triumphed at Le Mans that same year with the MS670.
This 1974 Rallye 1 was imported into Italy in 2016 by the current owner. Original and in a good state of use, it has always been used for events and rallies. In a good state of use, it needs minor body work in order to maintain its originality. Equipped with its correct interior and its peppy 60hp engine, it is one of the most fun and usable cars to date.
