"Elegance combined with mechanical quality", a simple advertising formula but which perfectly summed up the qualities of the Salmson S4-61, in particular for a convertible. The most successful model of the S4 launched in 1929, the S4-61, in its post-war version, broke with previous aesthetic practices and prefigured the "pontoon" style. Modernity was not only due to the headlamps integrated into the fenders, but also the 1730cc double overhead camshaft engine, mated to a MAAG Cotal "electromagnetic" gearbox, a rare technical refinement on cars of this category. The example on offer, one of the 192 cabriolets produced after the war, left the factory in 1951. We then find its trace when it was registered in Paris on June 26, 1968. It only changed registration in 2001 when it was purchased by M Verny who wanted a more comfortable Salmson than his San Sebastien. Old slides from a rally in November 1975 show that the car was blue and cream then. Previously repainted in its burgundy colour, the car has retained a superb blue leather interior. It is equipped with a Cotal gearbox, but a manual gearbox will also be provided, along with spare parts. As it has not been driven in recent years, the car will need to be restarted and serviced before enjoying this rare, elegant and technically refined convertible
