Description

The small Rover is unique and very rare by now. This is an original Dutch car that got its first registration number in 1994. It has the fitting colour British Racing Green. The mileage is demonstrable with NAP and extremely low for a 28-year-old car: 150,000.

This Rover drives and looks excellent. All the necessary maintenance has been carried out, including a major service and a new timing belt. It has also been fitted with 4 new Goodyear Efficient Grip tyres.

Plating with rust has been repaired and repainted. The bottom has been given a protective layer against rust. Window frames are nice and neat again and the window rubbers of the front windows have been replaced. The boot has a new logo on it. The interior is entirely neat again as well, with a new velour mat set with Rover logos. All in all, you could call it a minor restoration.

This GTi however has the special 14 inch Revolution Wheels, which were also used for racing cars of the Dutch Production Car Championship up to 1400cc. It does not only look better, but it also allows for wider tyres, resulting in better roadholding. It also has a Powersprint stainless steel exhaust with a nice dark sound.

Driving this 114 GTi is really a joy. It has 103 pk, approx. the same as a Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6. The weight, the acceleration from 0-100 and the top speed are at a similar level. Of course it is fast, but is especially the speed experience that makes it so much fun. It all seems to go much faster, making you feel you are really pushing it, without really reaching life-threatening speeds.

The car comes with an APK valid until 28-06-2023 and all above-mentioned work. The car comes with a valuation report, which can be used to insure this Rover with a profitable classic insurance. Due to its low weight, the motor vehicle tax is only 24 euro per month. If you would suspend it for the 4 winter months, you would only pay 196 euro per year.

It is advisable to come and view the vehicle before placing a bid to avoid disappointment afterwards. Please contact Catawiki to schedule an appointment.

The car can be viewed in Hendrik Ido Ambacht, the Netherlands. This Classic Car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button.
